Every MCU Movie and Series That Has Been Announced so Far

San Diego Comic Con has been going on this weekend and there have been a ton of announcements. Comic Con is basically Christmas for geeks like me. Particularly the MCU content is the most exciting thing they've announced, with new movies and series as well as new release dates. There is lots of Disney Plus content and plenty of theatrical content as well, so let me tell you everything we know about the MCU announcements thus far. There is a total of 25 MCU movies and series in production, that we know of, so welcome to...The Multiverse Saga.

I Am Groot (August 10, 2022)

This new series of shorts, starring Vin Diesel, is about Baby Groot. The trailer was released at comic con, and I have to say that it looks absolutely adorable. Bradley Cooper also reprises as role as Rocket Raccoon. It is a photorealistic animation series that will run for five episodes when it's first released and already has five more in development.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (August 17, 2022)

She-Hulk's debut looks to be a unique new addition to the MCU. It has been described as a legal comedy although Kevin Fiege said at comic con that the series could get darker than expected. It stars Tatiana Maslany as main character, Mark Ruffalo returning as Hulk, and Jameela Jamil debuting as the destructive villainess Titania. It was also announced at comic con that Charlie Cox would be returning as fellow lawyer Daredevil for the series. She-Hulk has gotten a lot of complaints for the looks of She-Hulks special effects and Titania's look as well. However, as long as the show itself is good I won't be paying too much attention to how it looks.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (November 11, 2022)

The new Black Panther trailer has been released at comic con, and it looks really good! I wasn't sure what to expect here but I like the idea of Wakanda and Atlantis going to war. The movie will feature the long overdue debut of Namor the Sub-Mariner and will also mark the first appearance of Riri Williams AKA Ironheart. Chadwick Boseman's absence is very noticeable however and they're not going to be able to fill that void. I just hope that they can give the king of Wakanda the respect he deserves and still make a good movie. We do know that another character will be taking over the role of Black Panther my guess is Shuri but we'll just have to find out when it comes out this fall.

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (December 2022)

The new Guardians special is set to release this holiday season, but we didn't see anything about it at comic con. Hopefully it stays on track because I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the guardians again after their short appearance in Love and Thunder. I know that James Gunn is very excited to bring this to the fans and says that it is absolutely crazy. It' s also supposed to be set on earth so seeing people like Drax and Mantis adjusting to earth's customs will definitely be interesting.

What If...? Season 2 (Early 2023)

I personally was hoping this would come out this year, but I guess we're going to have to wait. Captain Carter returns, and it looks like Steve Rogers might be becoming the winter soldier. Tony Stark is on Sakaar with Valkyrie, Odin fighting characters from Shang-Chi, and an episode based off of Neil Gaiman's were all present in the trailer which is still a comic con exclusive. A third season has also been announced.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania (February 17, 2023)

In the new Ant Man movie, we finally get to explore the quantum realm. There is a lot to get excited about for this movie: Kang is the main villain, Bill Murray will be in it as a mystery character, and MODOK will also be in the movie. Cassie is all grown up now and, in the movie, she gets stuck in the quantum realm and Scott Lang and his friends have to save her.

Secret Invasion (Spring 2023)

Secret Invasion is described as a thriller by Kevin Fiege and you'll have to stay on your toes because you never know who is skrull and who is human. Emilia Clark will be making her MCU debut. Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Talos will all be starring with War Machine making an appearance as well. Seeing pictures of Samul L Jackson on set, it definitely looks like it's going to be gritty which will be a good change of pace for the Disney Plus shows.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (May 5, 2023)

James Gunn was fired from Disney back in 2018 which made it to were the new Guardians movie is now coming a lot later than we originally expected. Gunn said, "This is the end of the story". That's definitely sad to hear but it's been an incredible journey. In the trailer it shows that Gamora still doesn't remember the guardians and the movie will also be really exploring Rocket's origin story. Cosmo the Russian space dog will be making an appearance as well as Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary. Overall, it looks like it's going to be a great movie and a great send off for some of the most beloved characters.

Echo (Summer 2023)

Echo made her MCU debut in the Hawkey Disney Plus show. She proved herself to be a deadly warrior and eventually made the decision to shoot the Kingpin instead of killing Barton. Echo is leading her own MCU show and there is going to be lot of firsts: first Native American lead, first deaf lead, first amputee lead, on a marvel production. I have nothing against that but I'm not sure if Echo is that interesting to me as a character. I'm hoping that the show changes my mind however. Echo will also see the return of Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin.

The Marvels (July 28, 2023)

Captain Marvel's second movie will feature Carol Danvers, Kamala Khan, and Monica Rambeau all in central roles for the movie. We don't know very much about the movie yet, we know Zawe Ashton is playing a mystery role and Samul L Jackson will be returning as Nick Fury. After the Ms. Marvel post credit scene where Danvers and Khan switch places, it leaves us with a lot of questions that will hopefully be answered in The Marvels.

Loki Season 2 (Summer 2023)

Loki season one was a great installment in the Marvel franchise and one of the best Marvel Disney Plus shows so far. We don't know much about season 2 but we do know that it will be changing directors to the ones that directed Moon Knight. It will be featuring the same cast and answering a lot of questions. Hiddleston said " don't think he will stop searching now." referring to Loki looking for Sophi Di Martino's character Sylvie. Kang will of course return as the villain and Mbatha Raw who plays Ramona Renslayer said that she's looking forward to playing an even darker version of her character.

Ironheart (Fall 2023)

Dominique Thorne's Ironheart will be making her first appearance in Wakanda Forever. She will then get her own show next year which also feature's Solo's Alden Ehrenreich. We don't know much about the show except it's main character Riri Williams will be a teenage genius who makes an iron man suit.

Blade (November 3, 2023)

Mahershala Ali's Blade movie finally got a release date but that's pretty much all we know about the new vampire hunter movie. We do know that it will be written by Watchmen's Stacy Osei-Kuffour and will also feature Delroy Lindo from Da 5 Blood and Aaron Pierre from Krypton.

X-Men '97 (Fall 2023)

The revival of the beloved animated X-Men series took us all by surprise but I'm definitely excited to see what they do with it. Apparently, Magneto will be leading the team and the animation will be getting an update but everything else will remain the same. I'm just hoping that it can keep the magic of the original.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos (Winter 2023)

I personally like the original title better, Agatha: House of Harkness, but nobody asked me so it's fine! Anyways we don't know very much at all except there have been rumors that the show will feature Wanda's twins. All I know is that I love Kathryn Hahn, I loved her in WandaVision, and I'm sure I'll love the new series.

Daredevil: Born Again (Spring 2024)

Just freshly announced at SDCC, the new Daredevil show is set to star both Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio once again. It is going to be 18 episodes long and based of course on the Born Again comic series which means a lot of suffering for Daredevil. Hopefully his friends from the Netflix series return as well, but it looks like we'll be seeing a lot more Daredevil in the coming years.

Captain America: New World Order (May 3, 2024)

Sam Wilson's Captain America returns in the new Captain America movie. I'm hoping that Winter Soldier returns as well, and the movie ties up loose ends from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. I'm also hoping for at least a cameo from Chris Evans, but we really don't know hardly anything about the new movie.

Thunderbolts (July 26, 2024)

I'm very excited for the new Thunderbolts movie as a fan of the comic series myself. The Thunderbolts are kinda like Marvel's version of the Suicide Squad. They're usually led by Baron Zemo who has already appeared multiple times in the MCU. There are multiple characters with the potential for joining the team including John Walker from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Abomination, Yelena Belova, Valentina Allegra de Fonaine, as well as Taskmaster. It could even feature heroes like Clint Barton and Bucky Barnes. I'm also hoping it introduces new characters like Songbird, Atlas, and Beetle.

Fantastic 4 (November 8, 2024)

We finally got to see John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic in Multiverse of Madness but it was...underwhelming. In my opinion the whole movie was underwhelming but that's a different story. I'm hoping that the new Fantastic 4 movie can reinvigorate the heroes and show everyone why they were so popular when they were first released. I would love for Krasinski to get another shot especially alongside his wife Emily Blunt but it doesn't matter how much star power the movie has as long as it's good.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year (2024)

This will be an animated prequal series chronicling Peter Parker's early days before Civil War. It will feature villains Doctor Octopus, Scorpion, Chameleon, and Rhino as well as introduce Norman and Harry Osborn. If this does actually fit into the MCU it seems like it's going to totally break the timeline based on the villains listed here. The show is confirmed for a second season called Sophomore Year and the show will also feature Charlie Cox voicing his character Daredevil.

Marvel Zombies (2024)

The new What If... spin off is going to be the first MCU production to feature a TV-MA rating which is because of the gore in the show. It was revealed that a lot of the heroes in the series will be ones from phase 4 like Yelena Belova, Shang Chi, and Kate Bishop. Ms. Marvel was especially highlighted as having a big role in the series.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (May 2, 2025)

There hasn't been anything else announced about the new Avengers movie but we can assume that will feature a brand-new lineup of heroes facing against Kang the Conqueror. It will probably feature a lot of multiversal travel.

Avengers: Secret Wars (November 7, 2025)

I am really hoping that they stay at least somewhat true to the comic on this one because Secret Wars is one of my all-time favorite Marvel Comics series. If it does stay true to the comics we can expect to see both the X-Men and the Fantastic 4 fighting alongside the Avengers and stranded on a planet called Battleworld by the Beyonder. I don't know if this confirms the appearance of the Beyonder or if they're just going to use Kang instead.

Armor Wars (TBA)

This series is set to focus on Don Cheadle's War Machine and was described by him as a show that will focus on Rhodey's past and future. It will be an adaptation of the Iron Man comic of the same name where his technology falls into the wrong hands. Even though this show didn't get a release window, it has been confirmed that it is still coming out.

Deadpool 3 (TBA)

Deadpool 1 & 2 was just released on Disney Plus but there was nothing about it at SDCC. We do know that it will retain it's R-rating and that it will be about Deadpool's journey into the MCU. He'll probably come face to face with some familiar faces which will be very exciting, especially after we saw his promotional video with Korg. We really don't know hardly anything about this movie yet though.

  1. I'm excited to see where the new mcu goes from their most recent shows. The only thing I hope for is that they get their cgi back to where it was.
