Marvel Characters that deserve their own Disney Plus show

After Marvel cancelled all their Netflix shows, Disney Plus has proved to be a promising new platform for movies and TV. We already got the weird and wonderful WandaVision and the “buddy cop” adventures of The Falcon and Winter Soldier's. With Loki coming out in less than a week, everyone is excited to see what Marvel does next. WandaVision was different from anything Marvel has ever done before, and it was just really fun to watch and slowly uncover the mystery of Westview. The Falcon and Winter Soldier was thrilling all the way through, I don't think I've hated a character as much as I hated John Walker in a long time. Marvel and Disney have announced a slew of other TV shows coming to their streaming service including everyone's favorite villain, Loki; the animated series, What If; and the OG MCU Avenger, Hawkeye. It really got me thinking about what other heroes could get a Marvel show, whether they're making their MCU debut or have already appeared, these are the characters that I think deserve their own Disney Plus show

Namor

The Atlantean prince has been around since the 1960s, he's gone from a terrorist, to a hero, and is now the king of Atlantis. He has super strength, flight, and can breathe underwater. Even though he's been around for so long, he is still one of the more obscure marvel heroes and is yet to make his debut into cinema. With this show, we could explore the underwater cities of Atlantis and Lumeria, since the MCU still hasn't ventured to the depths of the sea. Namor also has connections to the Fantastic Four and maybe this would be a good way to introduce Sue Storm. He also has a cousin, Namora, who could introduce the New Warriors through her clone Namorita. Namor's archenemy Attuma is a powerful villain and their rivalry could make for some really cool underwater fight scenes.

Spider Woman

Jessica Drew, another more obscure hero to fans who don't read the comics, was born with most of spiderman's powers but instead of webs, she shot venom blasts. She only gained these abilities because of her crazy scientist father who somehow radiated her while still in her mother's womb. Spider Woman became an agent of Hydra and was trained by Taskmaster, so that is a way to bring Taskmaster back after Black Widow. She later joins S.H.I.E.L.D in the comics but the show could be about her time as a private investigator or her time as a bounty hunter both of those would be interesting. In the comics she was replaced by the queen of the skrulls who ended up leading the Secret Invasion. Perhaps at the end of the show she could be subtly replaced with a skrull while on a space mission or something along those lines.

Rocket & Groot

Now, I know Groot is getting a mini-series but I'm talking about a full blown TV show here. I would love to see Rocket Raccoon and Groot go on space adventures together. I don't care which version of Groot it is, in fact, I think it would be really cool if they could incorporate baby, teen, and adult Groot all in the same show. There's no shortage of trouble those two could get into, traveling the galaxy together.

Black Cat

I know that some people would say that she is a villain but I would say she's more of an anti-hero. Marvel's cat burglar was teased in the Amazing Spiderman 2 but never got to suit up on the big screen. Felicia Hardy is an on again, off again romance for spider man and I think that they could have a really interesting dynamic in the MCU. I'm thinking the show would focus on her origin story, being the daughter of a famous cat burglar in NYC, she followed in her father's footsteps until spider man came along. She's really unlike any character we've seen in the MCU to date.

Korg

Korg has been a fan favorite ever since his debut in Thor Ragnarok. He is voiced by the brilliant Taika Waititi and was probably the funniest character in the movie. He started a revolution on Sakaar with the help of Thor and the others and he now lives on New Asgard. I'm very interested to see what him and Meek are up to now, even though I'm sure we'll see him in Thor: Love and Thunder, I think he is an MCU character who is worthy of having a show all to himself. Maybe it could even be set before Thor Ragnarok, and could bring in characters like Beta Ray Bill and Bi-Beast.

Thunderbolts

The Thunderbolts is basically Marvel’s answer to the suicide squad and I think they definitely deserve their own show. There are a lot of different characters on the comic book team but they would have to make some changes for the MCU. I say the team should consist of Zemo, Abomination, Batroc, Mordo, and some new characters such as Songbird or Atlas. The Falcon and Winter Soldier has all of us craving some more Zemo, and this is the logical next step. They could even add some heroes like Hawkey or Luke Cage into the show, there’s really just unlimited possibilities with this series.
