Eight Characters That Need to be Added to Marvel's Midnight Suns
Storm's DLC dropped less than a week ago, and getting to know Ororo Munroe has been a blast already. I love her relationship with Magik and her abilities are also just really cool. Midnight Suns has a lot of great characters from Avengers to X-Men to characters most people have never heard of. The game itself is based around the mystical side of Marvel which is an often overlooked aspect of the Marvel universe. The best characters to add to the game are ones that would have fun personalities and unique abilities. So here are the characters that I think need to be added to Marvel's Midnight Suns.
Thor
There is one founding Avenger that this game is sorely lacking and that Avenger is the god of thunder. Thor seems like a no brainer for a game like this. He is heavily involved with the mystical side of the Marvel universe, his stories often involve magic and myths. Thor would get along greatly with Hunter, the player character. Thor's hammer would make for some unique abilities even though his lightning abilities might copy Storm's a little bit, I think that there is enough that sets them apart. Thor would be a powerful ally to have and if they started a new series of DLC they could theme it Asgardian or space. They could even have frost giants or some kind of mythical army invade.
Loki
Another reason that they should do an Asgardian themed DLC is because Loki would be a perfect addition to the roster. Loki may be a villain most of the time but his solo outings in the MCU and the comics prove that he can be a force for good. Loki has mystical powers different than most of the other sorcerers on the team. He can shape shift, teleport, and has ice powers as well. He would also be a lot of fun to have around the Abbey, especially if Thor was also there. He might be difficult to talk to at first but he would open up and be a great friend and ally for Hunter
The Fantastic Four
It's a shame that Midnight Suns doesn't have any members of the Fantastic Four included because pretty much any of them would make great additions to the team. My favorite pick would be Johnny Storm. The Human Torch has powerful fire abilities and a fiery personality to boot. He would get along great with Spider-Man. It might seem like he has simple abilities but there are a lot of things you can do with fire, like fireballs, fire tornados, and flaming punches. It would be fun to clobber people as the Thing, but he might have abilities pretty similar to the Hulk. However, his personality would be a fun inclusion to the game. I do think that Invisible Woman would be a great support hero, able to provide shields and concealment as well. Mr. Fantastic is a genius with elasticity so not only could he put his head together with the likes of Stark and Banner but he would also have unique abilities for the combat portion of the game.
Rocket Raccoon
As much as I would like to put the whole Guardians of the Galaxy team here, I won't. Although, they would all be great. Rocket stands out to me as a character who would fit in best with the Midnight Suns. It would be fun to see him interact with characters that he doesn't usually get to interact with, and his giant guns and powerful tech would be great for combat. He could even introduce traps to the game that could explode or stun enemies. Rocket is someone the other heroes might underestimate but would end up proving useful and could even join Spiderman and Ghost Rider in shop class.
Black Panther
The King of Wakanda is a powerful and respected hero. Introducing him and other aspects of Wakanda would be really cool for the Midnight Suns. He would have combat kind of similar to Wolverine and Morbius in some ways but he could also be able to store up kinetic energy like in the MCU and blast enemies with it. T'challa is a character that could bring people together and help to advise other heroes. He also has a history with Storm so they could touch on that as well.
Iron Fist
I don't think that there is anyone in the Midnight Suns like Iron Fist. He is a martial arts master who also has mystical abilities of his own. He can channel his chi and deliver a powerful punch or fire destructive blasts from his fist. He would be a great fighter but also a chill person for Hunter to hangout with. They could meditate or walk through the grounds, Danny Rand would fit in great with the other heroes of the Abbey especially the Midnight Suns.
Beast
There are already a lot of geniuses living in the Abbey but one more couldn't hurt. This X-Man is a smart and classy mutant but he is also ferocious in combat. It would be fun to have Hank McCoy around, quoting classic Literature and mentoring the younger heroes. Beast looks awesome but he would also be a capable fighter with agility, strength and sometimes even weapons of his own design. He is a brilliant scientist and chemist, so he could probably create some new upgrades and abilities for Hunter and the others.
Magneto
Magneto is another character who is usually a villain but has also been seen as more of a hero, always working in the interest of mutantkind. He is one of the most powerful mutants and his power over magnetism would make him a powerful and unique fighter. His personality is somewhat cold but he exudes power. It would be interesting to see him interact with other heroes who might see him as a villain. X-Men like Beast and Magneto would be great additions to the game, and if they themed a DLC pack around them, they could have them fight the Brood. Since Storm already mentioned that's what the X-Men were doing while all of this was going on.
